MATHS WEEK 2018-KS2 COMPETITIONS
Year 6 and 7 pupils showed off their 'mathematical fluency' during a '24 Challenge Competition'. The pupils competed to collect cards from the 24 game which is based on mental arithmetic skills. Quick recall of tables and number facts are essential along with the ability to identify patterns. Each card produced has 4 digits displayed and pupils are required to use the 4 digits to make the number 24. The successful pupil then claims the card. After a deck of cards have been played the pupil with the highest number of dots ( each card is of 1,2 or 3 dot value) wins the game. Year 5 pupils have been working hard on quick recall of the times tables. A class Table Champion was also chosen for this half term. The competitions will run again at the end of Term 1.
