R4 COMHGHAIRDEAS LIBH GO LÉIR

Comhghairdeas agus Dia dhaoibh go léir to our Rang 4 pupils who celebrated their First Holy Communion at 2.00 p.m. Mass on Saturday 27th May in St. Mary’s Church, Maghera. We are grateful to have seen you celebrate this special day in your sacramental life, as you received the Body of Jesus for the first time. Your joy and enthusiasm for Holy Communion is an inspiration to all of us! Thank you to Fr Doherty and Fr O’Doherty for celebrating the beautiful mass. Fr. Doherty PP commented after Mass on the great reverence displayed by the children. My thanks to all our school staff who helped to prepare the children for this special day, especially the R4 teacher Múinteoir Aisling and Cúntóir Ranga Andrea. A special word of thanks to Mrs Aiveen Downey and to the boys and girls in our school choir who provided the music liturgy which added so much to the occasion. My thanks to all the parents who brought the children to the church to sing in the choir. We are grateful for the parental support in helping to prepare the children at home too. It was lovely to hear the children saying the mass responses confidently throughout the ceremony. They sang the Marian hymn beautifully too. The many words of thanks received from parents after mass were very much appreciated. We thank God too for blessing us all with such glorious weather on Saturday. Mrs Mc Master
