We are hoping to give a little help and support to two of our local charities at this Christmas time. We asked that each child bring one food item into school on Monday or Tuesday of this week. A few pupils were disappointed on arrival at school this morning and realised that they had forgotten to bring their item or had left it on the bus! We will be happy to accept the final items tomorrow Wednesday 16th December.
The food items will be used to provide food hampers to those people in our community who may need assistance at this time. The response to date has been absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone for your generosity at this time.
Food items may include e.g. tinned food items, dilute drinks, biscuits, chocolates, pringles, sauces, teabags, coffee etc
The items will be presented to the St Lurach's Conference of St Vincent de Paul in Maghera and the Foodbank in Maghera Cross Community Link on Friday 18th December.
Pupils should place their item in the box provided in each classroom for this purpose. If parents wish to drop off any food items at the school please leave them in the box provided at reception.
